General guidelines – All content posted to Herbal Living must be original content, not a reposting of content from another site or blog. If you share your work elsewhere online, we are fine with you linking to it within other appropriate content, but reposting content damages its success both here and wherever else it’s posted. This site is an herb enthusiast site. Although we don’t recommend anyone use this information in place of the medical advice of a qualified doctor or medical practitioner, we would still like any and all medical claims to be backed up by scientific research with links provided. If you are talking about an herbal remedy’s historical/traditional uses, please explain that and reference your research. The better-researched, annotated and reliable your information, the more it will be trusted, read and shared within our community.
Here’s a what we’re looking for:
Columnists/Bloggers – We are always open to new columnists and bloggers for the website. If you would like to and can regularly contribute (at least once every other week) to Herbal Living, please enter a sample piece below.
Feature Articles – If you would like to contribute a feature story but cannot commit to regular submissions, submit a feature article.
Video Series Hosts – If you aren’t a writer, or prefer to explain things in front of a camera, we are actively seeking readers who are interested in hosting their own video series. Your own equipment would be required, but your videos would be featured on the home page and in our newsletters and seen by thousands of people every year. Please use the form below, and submit a synopsis of what your video would be about, and attach a photo of yourself.
Academic Papers – We are always interested in scholarly research submissions on any topic in any way relevant to herbal medicine. References and notes should be included in the body of your submission. We also accept abstracts (500 words or less). Herbal Living is not a peer-reviewed journal, and is not affiliated with any academic institution. Any medical information on the site is for entertainment/educational purposes only.
Social Media Gurus – We are searching for people to help us with Facebooking / Tweeting / and Pinning. If you find stories you just want to share with fellow Herbies, let us know!
All contributors to Herbal Living are, at this time, unpaid.
